Senior HR Merger and Acquisition Project Manager

Randstad is a global talent and workforce solutions company recruiting for a global manufacturing and biotechnology company client. The Senior HR M&A Project Manager will lead end-to-end human resources projects for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and restructurings, managing workforce transitions, risk mitigation, cross-functional coordination, and project governance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end HR M&A projects: Own the daily strategy and execution for assigned acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and restructurings from initial due diligence through final integration or separation
• Assess and mitigate people risk: Lead HR due diligence to identify potential liabilities, costs, and workforce risks, delivering clear recommendations to senior leadership
• Orchestrate cross-functional delivery: Partner closely with Legal, Finance, Corporate Strategy, IT, and external advisors to align HR strategies with broader business goals
• Manage workforce transitions: Build and execute change management, communication, and HR operational plans covering HRIS, payroll, benefits, and talent retention
• Drive project governance: Develop comprehensive project plans, monitor milestones and budgets, navigate labor law compliance (including works councils/unions), and report progress to executive leadership

Requirements:

• Proven track record leading HR teams through complex mergers, acquisitions, and/or divestitures
• Deep knowledge of HR integration strategies, employment law compliance, and change management principles
• strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent M&A projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to influence cross-functional leaders and external advisors
• Background in management consulting (Big 4 experience strongly preferred)
• Experience developing Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) and navigating international employment considerations or works councils
