Business Systems Analyst– Remote

Symetra is a national financial services and insurance company dedicated to helping people achieve financial freedom. The Business Systems Analyst will configure and enhance business applications, analyze requirements, improve processes, and support system testing, implementation, production support, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain business applications, including workflows, business rules, forms, user interfaces, and data elements
• Analyze business needs and support the design, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and process improvements
• Create and maintain documentation, including business requirements, system specifications, and process flows
• Collaborate with business and technology partners to troubleshoot issues, identify solutions, and improve system performance
• Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, testing activities, and implementation planning
• Coordinate system changes across multiple environments and support production deployments
• Develop and execute test plans, validate system changes, and support user acceptance testing
• Provide production support, resolve application issues, and assist users with system functionality
• Support reporting, data management, and ongoing optimization efforts
• Contribute to project initiatives and continuous improvement activities that enhance business operations

Requirements:

• High school diploma required
• 2+ years of experience in business systems analysis, operations, technology, insurance, financial services, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
• Effective communicator who can build strong relationships and collaborate across teams and levels of the organization
• Curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn new business processes and technologies
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and systems implementation practices
• Experience supporting, configuring, or enhancing business applications
• Working knowledge of system integrations, data flows, and business process automation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience translating business needs into system requirements, test scenarios, or process improvements
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization to work in the United States throughout their employment with our company
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred
• Experience with FINEOS or similar configurable business platforms strongly preferred
• Experience within group benefits insurance, including Life, Disability, Leave/Absence, or related products is preferred
• Experience with SmartComm is preferred
• Professional certifications relevant to business analysis, systems, or technology are a plus
