Job Description:
Required Experience:
Significant hands-on 3-axis die sink EDM experience, including process development (not only machine operation)
Experience machining nickel-based superalloys or other difficult-to-machine aerospace materials
Strong electrode design and burn-strategy knowledge
Proficiency with Siemens NX for CAD and/or CAM (electrode design, model interpretation)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience with precision measurement and inspection methods
Pluses.
Note: Makino experience is a BIG PLUS.
Experience with turbine components (vanes, blades, nozzles, seals) for aerospace or power generation
Familiarity with common sinker EDM platforms (e.g., Makino (they use Makino G series), GF/Charmilles, Sodick, Mitsubishi)
Knowledge of recast layer, heat-affected zone, and surface integrity requirements for turbine parts
Background in AS9100 or similarly regulated quality environments
Experience with electrode CNC machining (graphite milling)
Job Description:
Client is involved in the design and manufacturing of small turbine components, including vanes and other precision parts, from nickel-based superalloys. They need an experienced Die Sink (Sinker) EDM specialist to develop, optimize, and document machining processes for new parts on their 3-axis sinker EDM machines, working from designs and programs created in Siemens NX.
