Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 3+ Years
Detailed Responsibilities and Expected Role Outputs
1. Performance requirements and workload assessment: Review approved performance requirements, service expectations, transaction volumes, user concurrency, workload patterns, processing windows, batch schedules, and critical business journeys. Identify measurable test objectives, assumptions, constraints, and prerequisites and obtain confirmation of target thresholds from CLIENT or designated technical owners.
2. Performance test design and environment readiness: Develop test plans and workload models for authorized load, stress, endurance, volume, and scalability testing. Define virtual-user or transaction profiles, ramp-up and duration, test data, monitoring needs, environment configuration, entry criteria, and safety controls. Confirm that the test environment and execution window are approved before running tests.
3. Load, stress, endurance, and scalability execution: Execute authorized performance tests using approved tools and controlled scenarios. Capture response times, throughput, error rates, resource utilization, queue behavior, processing duration, and system stability. Monitor for conditions that require test suspension and coordinate with CLIENT technical contacts to avoid unintended impact.
4. Performance analysis and bottleneck investigation: Analyze execution results to identify bottlenecks, resource saturation, slow transactions, database or interface constraints, batch contention, and other observed performance limitations. Correlate test evidence with available application, infrastructure, database, and middleware monitoring data. Distinguish measured findings from hypotheses requiring further investigation.
5. Migration strategy and source-to-target validation: For authorized migration assignments, define validation coverage for source-to-target mapping, record counts, field-level accuracy, transformations, defaults, reference data, relationships, duplicates, omissions, and exception records. Coordinate approved sampling or full reconciliation methods according to volume, risk, and acceptance criteria.
6. Migration reconciliation and exception analysis: Compare source and target results using agreed control totals, key fields, record status, relationships, and transformation rules. Identify variances, classify their likely cause, preserve traceability to source records where permitted, and coordinate resolution with data owners and technical teams. Reconcile corrected records and document residual exceptions.
7. Findings, evidence, and recommendations: Prepare performance and migration test plans, workload definitions, execution logs, result summaries, variance reports, defect evidence, and recommendations. Clearly identify test conditions, environment limitations, assumptions, thresholds, and any limitations affecting interpretation of results.
8. Remediation verification and retesting: Support retesting after approved performance tuning or migration corrections. Re-run relevant scenarios, compare results with prior baselines, verify that identified variances or bottlenecks have been addressed, and document any remaining issues for CLIENT review.
