The NPD Procurement Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing to support our Innovation product pipeline.
This role will maximize service level performance of our vendors for on-time delivery of projects.
In partnership with NPD Ops, the NPD Procurement Manager will provide weekly procurement updates and manage the production timelines.
This role requires a close partnership with the several departments to include but not limited to Project Management, Supply Chain (Quality, Sourcing, Logistics), Accounting, and Finance to facilitate all the cross functional needs as it pertains to raw materials, packaging, and finished good production.
Develop production schedules for innovation, seasonal kits and samples with contract manufacturers and coordinate component deliveries to meet on-time product launches
Drive procurement and production lead-time discussions for NPI and consulted in timeline development with NPD Ops
Create and issue all Innovation Purchase and work orders, ensure raw materials and finished goods are managed efficiently to ensure minimal excess inventory
Resolve production issues and escalate unresolved issues to NPD Ops and management promptly
Support the new vendor on-boarding process in partnership with Sourcing, NPD Ops, Quality, and Logistics
Ensure on-time item and bill of material creation and costing accuracy
Attend NPD Governance meetings to provide Production & Procurement updates
Responsible for internal routing of all innovation artwork proofs and escalation of timing risks
Collaborate with Global Procurement team on smooth hand-off process from Commercialization to Replenishment
Coordinate with Global Procurement Manager on transition timing and production schedules for reformulations and engineering change projects
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent education and experience
3+ years’ progressive experience within new product introduction, procurement, and production planning within a global supply chain
NetSuite experience is desired
Good understanding of Supply Chain Metrics
Experience managing and directing external partners with day-to-day priorities and assisting to resolve problems
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams efficiently and effectively to resolve issues and proactively communicate needs
Background in managing different facets of production from start to finish
Demonstrates proactive problem-solving
Detail oriented with strong follow through skills
able to organize and prioritize multiple projects
Has a sense of urgency in managing time and while accomplishing tasks
Must have intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and ERP system
Ideal candidate has beauty experience and/or passion and excitement for the beauty category
