Leads the evaluation of clinical partnership opportunities in conjunction with the clinical business to bring forth for approval.
Determine resource requirements to meet clinical partnering goals and provides direction and guidance to cross-functional teams and in region team members, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and timely execution
Works on highly complex assignments of diverse scope in clinical where problem solving requires the analysis of data and a variety of relevant factors
Regularly evaluate and track the clinical partner portfolio to ensure optimal value and performance
Frequently interacts with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or partners
Frequently advises team(s) on complex matters and provide recommendation in terms of budget, methods, and resourcing
Lead a cross-functional implementation teams while working internally with key stakeholders to drive partnership success
Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives
Identify and negotiate new partnerships and partnership expansion efforts, accountable for all aspects of opportunity assessment, partner engagement, due diligence, financial modeling, negotiation of business terms and deal closure
Ensures clinical partnering needs are communicated internally and addressed appropriately
Partners with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, identify new ideas for partnership expansion opportunities, and clinical partnering strategic initiatives that drive alliances
Disseminates key learnings and best practices to foster continuous improvement in Illumina’s partnering capabilities
Requirements
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field and a minimum 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Majority of experience with business development and/or significant partnering responsibilities
Industry experience with Next Generation Sequencing or equivalent experience in regulated industries is desired
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time to support team collaboration, attend key business meetings, and engage with stakeholders across multiple locations
A valid passport is required and/or additional documentation (e.g., travel visas) may be necessary based on destination-specific requirements
