About this role
Role Overview
Directs all business development activities and ensures robust execution of Pursuit-to-Start-up processes. This includes at a minimum: capture strategies, gate reviews, win strategies, competitive intelligence, price to win, customer relationship management, proposal development
Leads a mid-size BD team to successfully achieve Momentum portfolio objectives, including employee development/mentoring on all aspects of the business development function
Responsible for prioritization, planning, and execution of New Business Investment (or discretionary) budgets related to the Momentum portfolio
Participates as a key leader in the triad (PM, Eng, BD) for the Momentum organization
Provides strategic leadership for customer relationship management for current programs
Leads senior level engagements across external and internal customer sets
Leads government relations or congressional efforts for the Momentum portfolio
Travel up to 25% may be required (both domestic and international)
Requirements
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Strong understanding and experience of defense acquisition across US and international customers including requirements generation, the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes
Expert knowledge in all functional aspects of business development
Proven leadership across multiple echelons of organizations in both direct and indirect applications
Detailed understanding and experience with new business capture processes for pursuits greater than $50M
