Set and maintain the credit culture and manage new business underwriting process for all transactions.
Train and further develop the Underwriting team as well as offer support and guidance for other areas of the organization including portfolio management, legal, and operations.
Review new deal packages prior to assigning Underwriter for significant industry and credit concerns.
Ensure that deals are underwritten prudently and efficiently.
Review credit narratives for content, ensuring that all pertinent credit issues are addressed and approve new transactions underwritten, within authority limits.
Manage department reporting exceptions and set debtor credit limits which exceed individual Relationship Manager or Underwriter approval authority.
Manage within set credit quality standards, including remaining within budget on revenue generation, funding/approval ratios, new fundings, and credit quality.
Interface with National Sales Manager with the underlying goal of promoting funding objectives.
Work with BDO’s in structuring proposal letters and ultimately approve all proposal letters issued as well as National Sales Manager in training of BDO’s.
Use CID to manage all facets of the underwriting process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.
5+ years relevant experience.
Ability to effectively lead others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
