About this role
Role Overview
Lead product qualification and validation activities at global manufacturing and test sites to ensure quality and performance.
Review and automate test data analysis; prepare and approve qualification reports.
Summarize results, update qualification plans, and present clear recommendations to cross-functional project teams.
Collaborate with product design teams to transfer prototypes from Montreal into manufacturing integration across production sites.
Support failure root-cause investigations and drive improvements in product and process design.
Develop validation plans for new fiber optic cables to ensure compatibility with connectivity products.
Work with Procurement to qualify alternate suppliers and strengthen the supply chain.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (TIA, IEC, Telcordia) to maintain conformity and deepen understanding of product requirements.
Collaborate with, support, and train global labs to expand testing capabilities through new equipment, methods, automation, or procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in product development, laboratory testing, quality, qualification planning, and/or assembly processes — preferably in the fiber optic industry.
Proven hands-on testing experience, data analysis, and technical report writing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in French and English.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration.
Knowledge of mechanical design and/or manufacturing processes.
Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) in a manufacturing environment.
Basic knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks or similar software.
Programming skills in Excel (macros/VBA), Python, LabVIEW, and/or relevant databases.
