About this role
Role Overview
- Ensure initial coordination of information with clients, family members, physicians, and referral sources
- Inform referral sources, clients, family members, and physicians about response time and follow-up plans
- Document information in the clients' medical records
- Input and update patient information in the EMR
- Complete necessary paperwork for patient files
- Verification of insurance coverage
- Create morning and evening census reports
Requirements
- Associates degree is preferred or equivalent experience in medical terminology and/or healthcare environments
- Minimum of two years experience in hospice, home care, or healthcare environment
- Experience dealing with various healthcare payers like Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors preferred
- Customer service focused
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Prior use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
- Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order
