Supplier Performance & Quality Improvement: Coordinate internal and supplier containment activities across Operations and Quality Assurance (Ops/QA).
Facilitate Commodity specific Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities with suppliers to address quality and delivery performance gaps.
Manage teams that will Develop, implement, and track Improvement Plans and Corrective Actions with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Lead at the commodity level – the working teams cadence for Monitoring supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Leading and Lagging
ensuring progress toward defined targets.
Communicate stakeholder improvement plans and lead periodic performance reviews.
Commodity & Supplier Management: Lead the Commodity Team allocation process and ensure clear accountability for supplier performance within the team.
Identify supplier sites for focus engagement and align priorities with sourcing and procurement strategies.
Support the management team in successful facilitation of supplier kick-off meetings to set expectations, clarify deliverables, and drive alignment.
Manage teams skill set to Assess suppliers using tools such as SHR / SRA and other market tools to determine capability and maturity levels.
Evaluate exit criteria for suppliers and determine readiness to transition out of containment or crisis management phases.
Crisis Management & Engagement: Support resolution of upcoming Escalations requests from the team on performance risks and recommend application of tiger teams when required.
Enable and Support rapid response teams to stabilize supplier performance in critical situations.
Drive alignment on sustainment strategies and lead closed-loop communications with Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
Transition Management & Leadership: Provide commodity level leadership and/or support for supplier transitions, ensuring a smooth handover of work scope with minimal disruption.
Enable the Support and sustainment phase by monitoring supplier maturity post-transition and ensuring long-term capability.
Align with internal business units and suppliers to reinforce performance expectations and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Typically requires University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
5+ years experience with Castings (sand, investment casting manufacturing technologies)
5+ years prior project management experience with greenfield/brownfield projects
5+ years prior experience leading direct reports
The ideal candidate will currently reside in the Midwest region
Forging experience
Sand Castings experience
Industrial Engineering degree
Experience managing cross-functional improvement initiatives and crisis management in the Material / Metallurgy – Castings Forging domain
Analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets and KPIs
Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action planning, and performance tracking tools
Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization
Six Sigma or Lean certification (Green Belt or higher).
Working knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace industry regulations
Experience with supplier assessments and APQP process knowledge
