About this role
Role Overview
Support the development and execution of social media initiatives across WM’s Canada Area.
Content creation, creative execution, project management, and reporting, ensuring alignment with corporate brand standards and business objectives.
Plan, draft, and publish content across social media and internal channels.
Develop visual content (graphic design, image and video editing) in line with brand standards.
Oversee approvals, translations, and compliance processes for social media initiatives.
Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder alignment.
Manage day-to-day scheduling, posting, monitoring, and community engagement across WM Canada social channels.
Stay current with trends, events, and promotional opportunities relevant to WM.
Ensure timely responses to brand mentions and community engagement opportunities.
Compile and present monthly performance reports (social media, campaign KPIs).
Use analytics to generate insights and recommend improvements.
Provide on-site support for corporate/community events, sponsorship activations, and facility openings as required to generate content.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
4 years of prior work experience.
Strong awareness of current digital trends and best practices, including emerging uses of AI in content creation and optimization.
Creative background as an artist, videographer, or photographer, with a keen eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency.
Demonstrated ability to develop compelling, on‑brand content that stands out while meeting legal, compliance, and brand guidelines.
Experience collaborating with translators and adapting content for multilingual audiences.
Highly energetic, collaborative, and passionate about topics related to the environment and sustainability.
Skilled storyteller who can bring complex ideas to life across digital channels.
Proven ability to work as a self‑starter and manage independent projects with minimal direction.
Hands-on experience in digital marketing, including SEO and SEM strategies.
Proficiency with social media analytics and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience using Sprinklr (or similar enterprise social media management platforms) to publish, monitor, and analyze content.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for events and site visits (as required).
Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
