About this role
Role Overview
- Monitor gas distribution systems using SCADA and related control systems.
- Analyze and respond to pressures, flows, and alarms to ensure system integrity.
- Learn and develop knowledge load forecasting.
- Manages and reviews alarm database for accuracy and proper safety related settings.
- Document system events and operational changes accurately.
- Supports, troubleshoots and advice on energy control staff with upgrades to the gas SCADA system.
- Assist with emergency response coordination.
- Once operator qualified, work staggered 24/7 schedule to monitor and control the gas distribution system.
- Provide shift coverage as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Operator Qualified (OQ) gas controller within 2 years
- Demonstrated skills with MS Office suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences or related field (desired)
- Experience in operations monitoring, dispatch, utilities, pipeline, or industrial environments (desired)
- Familiarity with SCADA or other control systems (desired)
