The Paralegal will play a crucial role in setting up the foundations in making this happen–as Legal Operations & Controls personnel.
They are responsible for maintaining the systems, workflows, and internal controls that enable the Legal Department to operate efficiently, consistently, and in a defensible manner.
They oversee contract lifecycle management, including template governance, version control, intake triaging, approval routing, execution tracking, and secure archiving of agreements with proper indexing.
They monitor contract expirations and notice periods, maintain centralized trackers for litigation, claims, and regulatory matters, and ensure that deadlines, filings, and documentary requirements are properly calendared and escalated.
They also maintain organized repositories of pleadings, annexes, board materials, and compliance records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness.
In addition, they support financial and administrative controls by tracking legal spend, reviewing external counsel billing against engagement terms, monitoring retainer balances, and preparing periodic management reports.
They develop compliance matrices for recurring regulatory obligations, preserve documentary evidence for audits, and implement structured reporting dashboards for the Legal Department and senior management.
Enforce standardized legal workflows, documentation protocols, and internal control systems to ensure efficiency, consistency, and defensibility of legal processes.
Administer the full contract lifecycle management (CLM) process, including template governance, version control, intake triaging, approval routing, execution tracking, and secure archiving of executed agreements.
Maintain centralized trackers and dashboards for litigation, claims, administrative proceedings, and regulatory matters, including monitoring procedural deadlines and external counsel deliverables.
Support the Legal Team on oversight on legal spend management by monitoring budgets, reviewing external counsel billing for compliance with engagement terms, tracking retainer balances, and preparing periodic expenditure reports.
Maintain compliance matrices and documentary controls for recurring corporate and regulatory obligations, ensuring proper evidence retention and audit readiness.
Act as Legal Department liaison with other departments.
Requirements
At least college graduate. Juris Doctor (J.D.) candidate preferred.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Computer literate; exposure or experience in working in law firms or government offices as paralegal or secretary; Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal); Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; Effectively able to prioritize & execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
