Own day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, employee changes, and compliance administration.
Partner with managers and HRBPs to resolve employee relations issues with empathy, fairness, and speed, focusing primarily on the EPDD functions.
Support benefits, leave, and payroll administration with attention to accuracy and compliance, in particular for Canadian employees (knowledge of US-based requirements is a plus).
Implement and improve HR processes by using AI tools to increase velocity and reduce manual work.
Serve as the first point of contact for Homies’ HR questions, ensuring a high standard of care and responsiveness.
Collaborate on People programs like surveys, performance, L&D, and hybrid work enablement.
Deliver data-driven insights and reporting to support decision-making across the People team.
Requirements
2–4 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
Prior experience supporting or partnering with EPDD/R&D teams (Engineering, Product, Design, or Data/AI) in a scaling or high-velocity environment.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, compliance requirements, and employee relations best practices.
Experience with HRIS systems (Rippling preferred) and comfort learning new tools quickly.
Knowledge of Canadian immigration and relocation programs (additional working knowledge of US immigration is ideal).
Demonstrated ability to experiment with and adopt AI tools to improve HR processes (e.g., automation of FAQs, analytics, policy drafting).
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a bias to action.
Exceptional interpersonal skills—able to build trust with employees at all levels.
Ability to collaborate in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday, with additional presence as designated by your HRBP and People Team leadership.
