
The Experience You’ll Create:**** The Human Resources Generalist is an integral member of the Talent Management Team, whose mission is to support operational goals by anticipating the needs of the organization, through intentional partnership. Our Michigan Hospitality business hosts and caters premier private and public events throughout the Detroit area. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as the Talent Management Partner for our Michigan Hospitality business. This includes proactively partnering with leadership for talent evaluation and development, responding to team member concerns, and consulting with Events Staffing and Recruiting teams throughout the year. The Events business is seasonal, so work focus changes from team member support during the busy season to strategic planning consultation during the off-season. This role is also responsible for some administrative responsibilities.**** ·Learn the Events business and stay up to date on business needs and staffing trends. ·Meet with management onsite and virtually to provide consultation and guidance. ·Partner with Hospitality Leadership and Event Managers to help them reach their goals. ·Positively influence operational leadership and team members toward best practices and core values. ·Partner with the Recruiting Team to support major hiring events. ·Respond with urgency and care to team member inquiries and concerns. ·Handle unemployment claims through our third-party administrator. ·Organize, analyze, and distribute results of Employee Engagement Surveys. ·Respond to Verification of Employment requests. ·Communicate and track Leave of Absences in partnership with the Benefits team. ·Manage end-of-employment documentation. ·Host semi-annual Talent Reviews with Hospitality Management. ·Organize and co-host New Hire Orientation. ·Own the Talent Management partnership for Local Engagement. ·Partner with Talent Management team on ad-hoc projects and process improvements. ·Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations. ·Performs other related duties as assigned
Ingredients for Thriving:**** ·Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. ·Minimum of 4 years of combined work experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, and/or Customer Service. ·Working knowledge of federal and state (MI) employment laws and regulations. ·Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust with stakeholders. ·Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ·Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). ·SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred. ·Experience with HRIS platforms preferred.
