About this role
Role Overview
Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine security systems and equipment
Act as key interface for technical support and training for the customer, maximizing customer satisfaction
Read blueprints, schematics, manuals to determine installation procedures
Interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams for equipment repair
Execute work in accordance with safety policies and procedures
Demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions
Write non-routine programs for systems
Consult with supervisor to resolve unusual system operation problems
Advise regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques
Execute technical aspects of multiple projects including programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing
Identify potential project risks and assist in developing strategies to minimize impact
Work closely with Project Manager and/or supervisor in project coordination
Mentor less experienced staff, may supervise equipment testing and tuning
Communicate with team members to improve operations of the technology center
Requirements
High School/GED or equivalent experience
Minimum 2+ years of previous, related field experience
Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation (preferred)
Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure
Solid technical skills and experience related to electronic security systems
Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
Must be a self-starter and work well without direct supervision
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Advanced computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficient in other relevant applications
Good skills with Spreadsheets and Data management
Good networking skills
Working knowledge of physical security and door Hardware
Understanding of relay and relay logic
