Role Overview
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable aging reports
- Submit, track, and reconcile Medicaid claims
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or partially paid claims
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with Medicaid representatives regarding claim status and appeals
- Prepare and submit appeals with appropriate supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state Medicaid billing regulations
- Post payments, adjustments, and contractual allowances accurately
- Maintain accurate documentation in the billing system
- Collaborate with internal teams (billing, operations, finance) to resolve issues
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable in healthcare
- Proven experience working with Medicaid claims and collections
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid billing rules and reimbursement processes
- Experience with EHR or medical billing systems
- Understanding of denial management and appeals process
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Intermediate Excel skills (aging reports, basic formulas, reconciliation)
- English proficiency (if required for client communication) Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicare and commercial payers
- Familiarity with US healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA)
- Experience working in a nearshore or multi-state Medicaid environment
