About this role
Role Overview
Own the end-to-end onboarding experience
Own the new hire journey from signed offer through the first 90 days.
Design structured touch points that build clarity, connection, and momentum.
Welcome new hires in San Francisco on Day 1 and set the tone for their Baseten experience.
Teach the story, culture, and product
Design engaging ways to teach who we are: where we came from, what we value, how we work, and where we’re headed.
Bring our culture to life through creative programming, incorporating executives, founders, customer stories, and real examples of how we build.
Build and continuously improve onboarding curriculum across live and async formats.
Partner with subject matter experts to design and deliver training on highly technical concepts (e.g., deploying a model).
Develop specialized onboarding tracks for different teams and roles.
Drive clarity and accelerate ramp time
Equip managers with practical tools and guidance to deliver strong, role-specific onboarding within their teams.
Ensure every new hire has clear expectations, defined success metrics, and meaningful early wins.
Design onboarding for velocity. At Baseten, new hires begin contributing immediately while they ramp. (For example, engineers ship code within days and present at Show and Tell within weeks). Onboarding should accelerate ownership, not delay it.
Build programs that scale
Partner with People Ops, IT, and Workplace Experience to ensure seamless Day 1 readiness.
Manage program logistics including scheduling, coordination, and attendance tracking.
Own our onboarding infrastructure, including LMS tools and systems for delivering live and async learning.
Track engagement and outcomes, collect feedback, and continuously iterate to improve effectiveness as we grow.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in onboarding, learning & development, or enablement.
Strong curriculum design and content development skills across live and async formats.
Excellent facilitator, able to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience partnering with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear, practical learning.
Builder mentality with high ownership and a bias toward execution.
Strong written communicator.
Experience in a fast-growing startup environment, comfortable operating with speed and ambiguity.
Deeply human in your approach. You care about how people feel, not just what they learn.
Passionate about making learning valuable, practical, and worth people’s time.
Benefits
