Serve as the in-house accounting SME: Own the role as the go-to accounting expert, providing deep technical support for product features and resolving complex accounting queries from customers.
Customer-facing support: Dedicate 20-30 hours weekly engaging directly with SMB clients, guiding them through accounting workflows, QuickBooks integrations, and troubleshooting rev rec and general ledger challenges.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with Customer Success and Product teams to prioritize customer accounting issues, offer expert insights, and support sales demos and technical conversations.
Manage QuickBooks integrations: Lead support for QuickBooks Online and Desktop syncing, ensuring accurate account mapping and resolving data sync or reporting discrepancies efficiently.
Project and issue prioritization: Take ownership of triaging and prioritizing accounting-related customer issues and product initiatives, driving scalable solutions as the client base grows.
Requirements
Strong Accounting Foundation with CPA Credentials: Deep hands-on knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger transactions is a must—this role demands someone who doesn’t need a primer on core accounting concepts, ideally a CPA with 2-5 years under their belt.
Client-Facing Communication & Troubleshooting: Expect to spend 20-30 hours a week directly engaging with SMB clients—answering accounting questions, pitching product features, and troubleshooting QuickBooks integrations. A finance pro who thrives in client interactions will excel here.
QuickBooks Online Proficiency (Trainable but Preferred): While deep QBO expertise can be coached, familiarity with QuickBooks Online and its quirks is important to hit the ground running and provide effective customer support given the product’s integration with QuickBooks.
