Analyzes actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques.
Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.), and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.
The Operational Strategy team works across the enterprise to establish investment and partnership strategies to meet customer demand, improve company performance, and introduce new technologies into the shipyard.
In this position, you will lead operational strategy development to increase shipbuilding throughput, analyze constraints and opportunities, identify solutions, both internal and through partnerships, and lead stakeholders to execute the strategy.
Responsibilities include:
Leading cross-functional teams to develop investment strategies across operations, supply chain, workforce, and infrastructure
Conducting diagnostic analyses to identify constraints and opportunities
Identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to streamline operations
Managing execution of initiatives by partnering with stakeholders across the company
Leading internal teams and coordinating closely with initiative owners to develop and execute value creation plans, roadmaps and business cases
Preparing strategy documents for senior internal and external stakeholders
Preparing cross-program reporting on strategy, investments, and execution of improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Masters' Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree : NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
