You’ll possess a thorough knowledge of architecture and engineering practice with emphasis on design, construction methods, value engineering, systems integration, building codes, commissioning, and other airport standards and regulations.
You’ll manage design and construction coordination for facilities with historic designations, ensuring compliance with preservation standards at the local, state, and federal levels, facilitating reviews with preservation agencies, and developing design solutions that respect historic character while supporting airport operational needs.
You’ll provide proactive and assertive management of design activities across a portfolio of projects, ensuring design consistency, standards, and integration across multiple project teams.
You’ll oversee interdependencies between projects (such as phasing, utilities, and airfield impacts) and facilitate coordination of design deliverables to maintain budget, schedule, and overall portfolio performance.
You’ll develop and maintain project scope trackers to ensure all scope elements are identified and assigned.

You’ll collaborate with schedulers to integrate design durations, phasing, and dependencies into the master schedule, identifying design‑related schedule risks, mitigation strategies, and ensuring alignment with procurement and construction sequencing.
You’ll participate in developing and enforcing design standards, submittal procedures, and technical documents to ensure design consistency, quality, and a uniform review process, seeking clarification and providing guidance when requirements are unclear.
You’ll oversee permitting documentation and track permitting processes required for portfolio projects.
You’ll work on behalf of Accenture and the Airport as the client’s advisor in airport facilities design for each assigned project.
You’ll support ORAT planning and ensure designs support operational readiness by coordinating with operations teams to validate functional requirements and participating in turnover planning and activities.
You’ll facilitate and document meetings, progress, action items, decisions, and owner input to deliver design and contract documents on time, on budget, and to defined quality standards.
You’ll seek to prevent changes during construction through coordination and enforcement of quality standards.
You’ll facilitate design reviews, page‑turn reviews, comment oversight, comment resolution, and corrective actions necessary to complete contract documents within scope, schedule, and budget, auditing comments and designer responses for quality and completeness.
You’ll apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines during design and construction, including installation methods and techniques. You’ll manage delivery to the field, overseeing design changes, stakeholder‑requested changes, RFIs, and submittals needed to support the construction schedule.
You’ll support the development of procurement documents (RFPs, RFQs, bridging documents) and participate in evaluating design proposals and interviews, providing input into scope refinement and contract negotiations.
You’ll demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, effectively conveying complex subjects at all organizational levels and with key stakeholders, including airport staff, executives, tenants, and airlines.
You’ll prepare design‑related briefing materials and translate technical issues into clear, decision‑ready content while supporting stakeholder communications related to design impacts.

You’ll work with consultants, client teams, QA teams, field inspectors, resident engineers, and Airport and City departments responsible for design and construction oversight.
You’ll maintain awareness of safety, health, and airport operations requirements to ensure compliance with regulations and contract provisions protecting the public and construction personnel.

Requirements
B.S. degree (or higher) in Architecture or a related field, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in airport/aviation terminal design and construction, including fundamental knowledge of aviation, airport operations, and airline considerations
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively lead and manage design progress and advise the client and Project Manager of potential issues, risks, and resolutions
Demonstrate proficient leadership skills, including influencing outcomes, escalating concepts/issues, and managing conflict
Prior experience includes alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk on projects equal to $250M or larger
Knowledge and experience with design and construction means and methods, resourcing, and schedule management for contract negotiation and change management
High level of proficiency and the ability to work independently in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project) and to work in the project management information system (PMIS), Kahua
