Own the Irix Product Research backlog: collect market feedback, scope research opportunities, facilitate prioritization discussions, and drive results through
Serve as a player-coach: perform hands-on analysis, delegate and prioritize objectives, and mentor, motivate and develop analysts
Set standards for documentation, quality, transparency, and peer-review
Translate research outcomes into clear requirements in partnership with product/software development and other technical teams
Develop value analysis strategies to drive adoption for new and existing products
Work with external and internal clients to create high quality deliverables that effectively meet their goals and showcase the value of our products
Generate thought leadership materials such as webinars, conference presentations and white papers, in partnership with other departments, to highlight subject matter expertise, product capabilities, and groundbreaking research
Define success metrics for R&D initiatives and guide post-release performance monitoring
Showcase research findings to key stakeholders and leadership for awareness, understanding, and decision-making
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or other major with quantitative course work
4+ years of experience in product R&D, analytics, actuarial science, or data science
Expertise with prescription and medical claims data
Solid understanding of underwriting principles and drivers of mortality/morbidity risk
Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional initiatives
Exceptional written and verbal communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong critical thinking and ability to think big picture
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI, and database querying languages (preferably SQL)
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Databricks, R, and Python
