Coding Specialist – Outpatient

Role Overview

• Reviews outpatient clinical documentation and assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes
• Utilizes 3M 360 Finder for code assignment and claim edits
• Monitors outpatient uncoded report to ensure timely coding and billing process
• Reports documentation insufficiencies to physicians
• Performs related clerical duties as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of formal coding educational program
• Coding certification required from AHIMA or AAPC
• 1 to 2 years experience in outpatient coding or billing
