Following strategy set by the Sr. Creative Director, the Art Director provides creative concepts and design direction for website, email, digital ads, and social channels.
The Sr. AD manages their team and owned projects from initial ideation to final execution.
The Sr. Art Director role is keenly focused on creating clear, compelling, on-brand content that emotionally connects with our customers to increase brand awareness, brand affinity, brand engagement and sales.
Digital creative concepting of brand, seasonal, product, and sale campaigns that meet strategies provided by the VP of Creative and the Sr. Creative Director.
Concepts include clear, visually compelling, and thoughtful digital mood boards and pitch decks that bring the concept to life for leadership approval and guidance for design and production.
Ongoing digital art direction for the design team to follow through campaign creation and production.
The Sr. Art Director is a hands-on designer as well as a leader with the ability to complete full design projects as part of their team.
Photo art direction, inclusive of model selection, set and prop direction, photo styling (lighting, tone, shot angles, etc.), building shot lists, and providing all details with visual reference for a photo team to execute the creative concept.
Manage art direction of photo retouching for digital projects, partnering with their design team and retouching partners.
Ongoing competitive research of other medical scrub brands' marketing and websites, as well as social and pop culture trends within the diverse medical professional community.
The Sr. Art Director must be inquisitive and engaged with our customers and what is meaningful to them.
A healthy enthusiasm and respect for that community is essential.
Manage and mentor creative direct reports.
The Sr. Art Director is expected to help their team members evolve and succeed through guidance, support, and creative work that challenges meaningful growth.
This role actively manages direct reports, including timesheet approvals, informal monthly touchbases on performance, and formal semi-annual and annual reviews.
Manage the digital creative process, partnering with the creative operations team, to ensure work is progressing on schedule, deadlines are being met, and final released assets are accurate and signed off on by necessary approvers.
The Sr. Art Director is an active part of the process and is empowered to problem-solve as well as identify and recommend efficiencies.
The Sr. Art Director is expected to keep up-to-date on digital design trends, and is empowered to collaborate with our in-house UX/IX and dev teams to evolve/improve customer experiences, as well as identify and recommend new technologies.
Requirements
Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required for this position.
Must demonstrate the ability to read, speak, and write in English.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/Web Design/Fine Arts.
5+ years of design and/or creative experience in retail or other direct-to-consumer marketing.
5+ years of experience leading a creative team of direct reports.
5+ years of digital design experience (website, email, digital ads, social).
Advanced ability to create compelling concept digital mood boards and presentations.
Advanced communication skills with the ability to pitch concepts to business leaders, cross-functional partners, and direct reports.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Business Suite (Office, Word, Excel, Teams).
Beginner experience in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe WorkFront (project management software).
This role will require development of proficiency in Workfront.
Knowledge of project management tools in general is helpful, as is the ability to quick-study the tool.
Advanced ability to manage time and work within schedules and deadlines, with the ability to shift with changing priorities as needed.
Must be exceptionally collaborative and work well with a variety of teams (creative, cross-functional, leadership).
Must be self-motivated and passionate about creative, and possess the ability to partner and lead without the need for micromanagement.
Have a strong understanding of digital marketing creative (e-com sites, email, digital advertising, social media).
Branding design experience is a plus.
Experience in Figma, Firefly, Premiere Pro and/or After Effects is a plus.
Ability to maintain a stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download / 100 Mbps upload) as required for remote work performance.
