Define and execute the Group tax strategy aligned with business objectives and risk appetite including establish and maintain tax governance frameworks, policies, and controls.
Provide clear tax guidance to senior market leadership and board/audit committee when required.
Own the Group’s tax accounting position and processes under IFRS and local GAAP and coordinate tax inputs to statutory audits and group reporting deadlines.
Lead effective tax rate forecasting, drive analysis and support budgeting/forecasting cycles.
Set and maintain transfer pricing policy; ensure operational alignment with intercompany agreements and actual conduct as well as oversee transfer pricing documentation, local file/master file requirements where applicable, and defend positions in audits.
Partner with Legal/Finance to maintain intercompany agreements and pricing models.
Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks; maintain a tax risk register.
Lead tax audits, inquiries, and disputes; manage engagement with tax authorities.
Ensure readiness for increased transparency and reporting obligations (jurisdiction-dependent), i.e. CbCr and Pillar II.
Provide proactive tax advice on: M&A, restructuring, integrations, and disposals; New country entries, entity set-up, and operating model changes; Financing, treasury initiatives, and cash repatriation planning.
Collaborate with external advisors to support the group’s growth strategies and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
Stay up to date with international tax law changes and assess their impact on the Group’s tax position.
Requirements
Several years of experience in a similar tax role, preferably within a multinational company or a Big 4 accounting firm.
Strong understanding of international tax laws and regulations.
Experience in managing tax compliance for corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
