Backend Engineer – Apps Team

Role Overview

• Own and deliver backend features end to end
• Lead the architecture and evolution of EPI’s cloud-based microservices
• Define and uphold high code quality standards
• Actively support mobile engineers by providing backend expertise
• Drive backend platform decisions with a clear understanding of product requirements
• Balance global platform consistency with mobile-specific needs
• Collaborate closely with mobile engineers and other teams

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development
• At least 5 years of back-end development
• Proven experience in building scalable system architectures
• Familiarity with modern design patterns and REST API design
• Ability to recognize and implement effective automated tests
• Proficiency in core backend technologies like Kotlin, Ktor, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, MongoDB and Kafka
• Experience in implementing UI/UX that meets user needs
• Experienced in Agile methodologies
