About this role
Role Overview
Develop, implement, and oversee all regulatory compliance and safety programs within ITAD operations.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Serve as the primary point of contact for certification bodies during audits.
Manage annual third-party audits and ensure timely corrective action.
Oversee data sanitization processes to ensure compliance with NIST 800-88.
Review and approve Certificates of Data Destruction and Certificates of Recycling.
Develop and enforce internal compliance policies and training programs.
Conduct internal audits and identify/remediate compliance risks.
Prepare and present compliance metrics and audit outcomes to leadership.
Monitor and report on safety KPIs to senior leadership, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Requirements
5+ years in safety & compliance experience, preferably within warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or ITAD/e-waste operations.
Demonstrated experience managing R2, e-Stewards, NAID or similar certifications through full audit cycles.
Strong working knowledge of data security standards (NIST 800-88, HIPAA, GDPR as they relate to hardware disposition) preferred.
Experience interpreting and applying federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, state e-waste statutes).
Proficiency in maintaining chain-of-custody systems and compliance documentation platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex regulatory language for operational teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and develop practical, effective solutions.
Excellent communication and training facilitation skills
able to engage employees at all levels.
Proficient in maintaining safety records, conducting audits, and preparing regulatory reports.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a positive safety culture across multiple locations.
Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is a plus.
Passion for digital equity, sustainability, and scalable community impact.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
Must be flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable.
