Guides day to day operations for a team of actuaries and analysts in the assigned area of responsibility.
Ensures alignment between staff and leadership within the unit.
Accountable for preparing rate filings, annual bid filings, monthly reserving, capitation, budgeting and forecasting.
Provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for the health plan's actuarial and analytic functions.
Manages critical processes—including pricing, reserving, budgeting, and annual bids.
Establishes robust policies to maintain audit compliance and financial accuracy.
Recruits, mentors, and manages a skilled team of actuaries and analysts.
Optimizes internal resources and coordinates external consulting as needed to meet organizational goals.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or related field required.
Five years of progressive actuarial experience and two years of leadership experience required.
Experience in pricing, reserving, analysis and other actuarial functions preferred.
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) certification awarded by the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) required.
