Responsible for managing and developing a defined client portfolio of federal and state authorities
Work primarily in farming (70%) and hunting (30%), building long-term, resilient customer relationships
Strategically develop customer relationships and open up new business areas
Close collaboration with internal teams, lead sales projects and align customer requirements with technical solutions
Responsible for business development of assigned existing customers in the public sector
End-to-end responsibility from acquisition through proper proposal and contract preparation to contract signing
Full handling of customer inquiries across the sales life cycle (call-offs, mini-competitions, partner inquiries related to existing business) including No-Bid/Bid assessments
Ensure and expand existing business (close cooperation with Delivery & Community Manager)
Identify new business opportunities from existing accounts
Serve as the sales contact for subject-matter experts
Escalation management
Ensure customer growth through targeted sales activities and stakeholder management
Identify, develop and implement account-level measures to drive cross-selling across the DIGIT4U Group portfolio
Develop new business to broaden our brand presence within the account
Build and maintain customer relationships through continuous communication, especially with decision-makers at different hierarchical levels
Responsible for onboarding productive staff, including prior coordination with HR
Prepare customer development plans
Requirements
Successfully completed sales training or equivalent, or a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Sales Management, Business Psychology or a related field
Minimum 5 years of sales experience with a focus on IT solutions in the public sector
Demonstrable success in account development (farming) and new customer acquisition (hunting)
Strong farmer mentality with strategic vision and results orientation
Deep understanding of public administration and a reliable network of decision-makers
Experience with tendering and procurement processes and knowledge of common contract types in the public sector — especially in people-based services
Good technical understanding and familiarity with project methodologies (e.g., V-Model, Scrum)
Strong communication, sales and organizational skills
Solid knowledge of public procurement procedures and IT trends such as register modernization and the Online Access Act (Onlinezugangsgesetz)
Independent and detail-oriented working style with a reliable focus on the essentials
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Quick comprehension and ability to learn rapidly
Structured, self-directed working style with a hands-on mentality
Excellent written and spoken German
