Material movement including loading and unloading trucks and moving material from location to location by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors or other material handling equipment.
Prepares outbound shipment of materials including staging, packaging, labeling, counting, and document preparation.
Arranges for trucking and communicates with other stakeholders in the shipping process.
Will work under the general direction of the site Logistics Coordinator
Move materials from location to location as instructed by the Move Request form by carrying, pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors or other material handling equipment.
Loads and unloads trucks according to established safety and operating procedures.
Take complete responsibility for preparation of shipments by staging, counting, documenting, and packaging materials for safe transport.
Process paperwork and arrange for transport through 3rd party provider.
Communicate shipments status and other information to necessary FMC personnel.
Distribute received shipments by delivering materials to requestor.
Process paperwork to record transaction.
Assist in physically locating Customer Property materials.
Assist refurbishment teams with load outs or any staging of equipment.
Assists with SAP inventory record maintenance by weighing materials, measuring materials, and creating and attaching identifying equipment tags.
Assists in customer audits and cycle counts to support inventory control activities.
Use basic computer knowledge to research equipment in SAP and iMan.
Use e-mail and company intranet for basic communication tasks.
Physically prepares materials for safe movement or shipment including use of banding machine and clincher, stretch film, crating or other means.
Practices good housekeeping in assigned area and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Team Leader.
Be able to use MS Word and Excel to facilitate document handling.
Be able to use some intermediate Excel features to aid in document creation/editing.
Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D
2+ years experience in receiving, materials, warehousing or related areas in a similar environment
complete understanding of receiving, operations, and safety and quality procedures
Experience in freight traffic coordination and material transportation planning
Experience in verifying orders by reviewing shipping documentations such as bills of lading, packing slips, delivery notes, purchase orders
Must demonstrate good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers, vendors, and coworkers in team based environment
Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
Must demonstrate good organization and planning skills
Demonstrates ability for problem solving
Shows evidence of independence and is a self-starter to accomplish daily task and goals
Knowledge and proficiency in basic PC operation using Microsoft Office, SAP preferred but not necessary
Demonstrates ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures and ensure those policies and procedures are being followed by associates involved in logistics
Ability to handle multiple task and changing priorities in a fast paced environment where meeting customer delivery dates requires urgency
