Aquatics Manager

Role Overview

• Serves as the aquatics manager responsible for managing and supervising the aquatic programs for an FMWR activity.
• Assist the program manager with a wide variety of management and administrative tasks associated with operating a fully functional activity that is safe and enjoyable for all participants.
• Participates in and or leads the planning process that results in providing a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.
• Conducts all the necessary coordination of various details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.
• Interviews and selects staff and provides orientation, training and supervision.
• Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of the program as required.

Requirements

• Instructor Certification as a lifeguard or water safety instructor in accordance with MWR Policy
• Undergraduate or Graduate Education with a major in General Recreation or one of the appropriate fields or recreation related to the position or at least one-year specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) through the American Red Cross and Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator (NAVMED 5010-4)
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Possess a Red Cross CPR Certification
• Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
• Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
• Able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Valid country driver's license and passport.
• Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
