Provide support to the Ochsner Health System pharmacies to improve and optimize the steps necessary to get medications from a supplier to a patient.
Focus on inventory, purchasing, receiving and distribution.
Support the system’s initiatives to implement new policies, or modify existing procedures, to minimize cost, reduce waste, increase accuracy, and improve safety through the pharmacy distribution process.
Work closely with the current staff and Ochsner Pharmacy Buyers servicing the Ochsner Health System patient population.
Work will be performed in conjunction with the 340B split billing software, wholesaler, and System Supply Chain staff.
Participate in quality assurance activities related to the medication use process or specified program.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
10 years pharmacy purchasing or related pharmacy experience
Ability to coordinate diverse information into management data and reports
Effective Leadership and teaching skills are required
Communication and Multi tasking Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all members of pharmacy team
Knowledge of or ability to learn and master pharmacy management software (Sentry Data Systems, Pyxis and Cardinal Health) to support Pharmacy Supply Chain Programs
Knowledge of or ability to learn and master Excel and Access
Knowledge of or ability to learn regulations and guidelines of Pharmacy Supply Chain
Attention to detail and ability to analyze and prioritize projects to meet the needs of the system
Benefits
Travel to New Orleans once per quarter. Travel will be reimbursed based on system policy.
