Role Overview
- Conducting daily underground inspections and managing geotechnical hazards
- Collecting geotechnical data (mapping, core logging, etc)
- Evaluating underground workings and recommending rehabilitation approaches
- Completing numerical modelling and analysing mine sequencing
- Reviewing designs for stability and recommending ground support requirements
- Interpreting seismic data and structural information
- Supporting internal and external geotechnical audits and QA/QC processes
- Partnering closely with Mining Operations, Engineering and MTS teams
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or Geology
- Previous geomechanics experience (mining or civil)
- Technical capability and confidence working in dynamic operational environments
- Clear communication with operational teams
- Enjoy hands-on fieldwork.
