Role Overview
- Investigate and adjust workers' compensation claims with high potential exposure
- Analyze coverage, determining compensability and benefits
- Establish reserves and negotiate settlements
- Conduct meetings on the phone with insureds and claimants
- Prepare large loss reports to both internal and external audiences
- Attend settlement conferences as assigned
- Work closely with defense attorneys and other vendors including medical case management, surveillance, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience required, but exceptional candidates with 7+ years will be considered
- Current license to adjust workers’ compensation claims in California
- Strong understanding of California workers' compensation claims
- Ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours
- Strong consideration given to candidates with industry designations including Associate in Claims
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
