Serve as a key GE Vernova remedial innovation and thought leader
Provide strategic support and guidance for the management of remedial projects and the GE Vernova remedial portfolio
Serve as the lead remedial technical manager for EPR remedial projects in supporting EPR project managers through the life-cycle of each project
Maintain, update and enhance GE Vernova’s remedial risk portfolio management tool to prioritize and balance focus and resources, with responsibility for ongoing operating reviews for realignment and priority setting
Serve as the primary operations manager for the remedial portfolio by collecting, tracking and synthesizing key information from the Environmental & Properties Risk project managers
Develop, maintain and communicate technical standards to guide and inform GE Vernova’s approach to managing remedial project risks
Establish and maintain standard operational systems to support all aspects of the GE Vernova remedial portfolio
Coordinate and lead the remedial and financial reserve process in close partnership with other key stakeholders including finance, controllership, business leadership, legal, audit staff, other members of the EPR team, etc.
Serve as the primary point of contact for GE Vernova businesses seeking environmental technical resource support related to remedial expertise
Other key responsibilities include: Establish and maintain communication rhythms with key internal stakeholder groups such as finance, controllership, business leaders, EHS, etc.
Developing standard operating best practices, guidance and/or processes to ensure a consistent and appropriate approach to remedial risk management across the portfolio
Track critical milestones, action plans, risks and help needed
Serve as an expert remedial resource by staying up to date with remedial standards, technologies, etc.
Lead, drive and support regular operational reviews and leadership communications
In addition, this role will be responsible for managing the investigation and remediation of a limited portfolio of remedial projects through the management of external consultants and coordination with key internal stakeholders including finance, sourcing, EHS, legal, business leadership, communications and governmental affairs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or College in environmental science, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, or equivalent discipline
Minimum 20 years’ applied project management experience in environmental, remediation and/or EHS within a company, regulatory agency and/or consulting firm
Minimum of 15 years of experience managing complex remediation projects involving soil, groundwater and soil vapor issues, must include experience with PCBs, hydrocarbons, heavy metals and chlorinated solvents
Provide strategic oversight, direction and communication including planning, progress, and financial updates to the management of remedial sites
Proven ability to manage and coordinate internal project and external consultant teams to generate project cost estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and reports
Experience preparing financial estimations and planning necessary for long-term remedial projects
General familiarity with relevant environmental issues and considerations related to historical and current manufacturing and energy operations
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and presentation (oral/written) skills; public presentations both in person and virtual are an essential part of job function
Demonstrated collaboration skills within diverse teams
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner
Demonstrated success in coordinating technical, financial, reputational and legal considerations for complex projects
Strong technical and analytical aptitude to understand and articulate complicated trade-offs
Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
Experience working cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations and ability to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc.
Ability and willingness to travel including internationally (~30% travel)
English proficiency
Proficiency with MS Office Programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
