Role Overview
- Day-to-day handling of a portfolio compromising of Motor claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in accordance with Global Claims Handling guidelines, service standards and regulations
- Ensure reserving philosophy is adhered to and reserves booked are in compliance with company protocols
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial teams in connection with claim issues, trends, review of reinsurance contract language and service standards
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and market peers
- Monitor trends and developments in Casualty claims and keep underwriters and actuaries up to date
- Keep up to date with legal developments, i.e. relevant case law; new and developing precedents; changes in legislation that impacts the portfolios
- Collaborate with members of the Global claims team on common claims and internal processes to ensure consistency
Requirements
- Previous and tangible Claims experience, dealing with claims from cradle to grave, preferably including Motor, but applications from those with EL/PL & Casualty experience will also be considered
- Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs
- Ability to build effective professional relationships both with external clients, including Solicitors and Brokers
- High level of financial and commercial awareness
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail to carefully analyze information
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks
