About this role

Creating or updating policies for the patent program.
Assisting with identification of and/or review of patentable inventions.
Performing patent analysis.
Creating or updating policies for the trademark program.
Supporting review of artificial intelligence functionality.
Assisting in contract negotiations, particularly where IP or AI issues arise.
Supporting litigation and/or indemnification matters.
Assisting with ad-hoc projects by researching legal issues and regulatory developments and preparing summaries of research.
Collaborating with Calix’s team of in-house attorneys, outside counsel, business and engineering groups.

Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
Interested in pursuing a career in intellectual property.
Some courses in intellectual property.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Attention to detail.
Strong analytic skills.
Experience in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
An undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical or scientific field is a plus.
Experience with AI is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Able to work for the complete summer break (May
August or June
September).
