Proactively manage litigation process on assigned claims to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate to resolution
Decide when external resources will be hired to conduct claim investigations, expert analysis or provide legal services
Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial and Legal staff
Proactively provide education and information to business partners and credit unions regarding risks and exposures, operations and efficiencies for credit unions and TruStage
Demonstration of effective interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, analytical and critical thinking skills
Provide timely reporting as dictated by claim handling guidelines
Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations and case law
Demonstrate knowledge of financial services operations
Handle claims in multiple states
Ensure maximum recovery or contribution are pursued
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 7 years of claims experience with a focus on litigation
Must have demonstrated knowledge of policy coverage and interpretation skills
Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, including working effectively in a remote office environment.
Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications and general computer skills
Some travel required (mediations, trials and credit union visits)
Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner
Strong organizational, time management and decision-making skills
Easily adapts to new or different changing situations, requirements or priorities
Adjuster License and Continuing Education as needed
AIC, CPCU or other professional industry education a plus
