Role Overview
Partner with the Senior Manager, peer communications leads and Communications colleagues to set direction, raise standards, model best practice and shape, deliver and embed the Internal Communications strategy
Own the design and delivery of a defined portfolio of high‑profile, strategically important communications projects, including stakeholder engagement, evaluation, learning and continuous improvement
Lead the planning and delivery of complex and sensitive communications activity within your portfolio, including organisational change, crisis response and major transformational announcements
Act as a trusted strategic communications adviser to senior leaders and key teams, building relationships and persuading stakeholders at pace and scale
Provide line management, coaching and development for senior associates and associates, building confidence, capability and a high-quality team culture
Represent Internal Communications on project boards and governance forums, providing specialised input and constructive challenge and reviewing committee papers to ensure communications implications are considered early
Seek out opportunities, risks and organisational connections to improve engagement, alignment and understanding across the organisation
Use data, insights and horizon scanning to evaluate performance, raise awareness of internal communications trends, best practice and new technology and enable continuous improvement across the team
Requirements
Significant experience leading the design, delivery and evaluation of internal communications strategies and multi‑channel programmes, within a large, complex or regulated organisation
Clear written communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complete tasks on tight deadlines
Extensive experience using data, insight and feedback to shape communications activity, inform decisions and improve effectiveness
A demonstrated experience of designing and delivering strategic internal communications campaigns that support organisational priorities
Experience leading high‑profile and sensitive communications, including organisational change, transformation and crisis situations
Proven ability to operate as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, with confidence to guide decision-making and provide constructive challenge
Experience managing and developing people, including line management, coaching and performance management
Demonstrable experience working across multiple teams and functions to deliver coordinated, timely communications
Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and serve as the communications representative at project boards or governance meetings
Experience using digital internal communications platforms, such as intranets, enterprise social platforms and internal email tools, alongside solid knowledge of accessibility and inclusive communication principles
