Serve as the CMO’s strategic finance partner, supporting MBRs with clear executive narratives on marketing performance, investment trade-offs, and spend-to-pipeline outcomes.
Own upper-funnel spend planning and governance across channels (e.g., brand, digital, events, content, PR), including allocation frameworks, scenario planning, and trade-off recommendations to maximize ROI and pipeline contribution.
Lead the annual and long-range planning processes for Marketing Finance, including analyzing levers to influence long-term pipeline and sales growth across segments, channels, and products; owning the planning timeline and stakeholder alignment; and consolidating inputs into the marketing budget and multi-year plan.
Lead marketing analytics and performance reporting—define and monitor KPIs (e.g., CAC, CPL, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, ROI), build dashboards and narratives, and drive action through insights.
Drive transparency to marketing ROI by partnering with Marketing Ops and Finance to align on demand-gen definitions (e.g., MQL → SAL → SQL), establish ROI guardrails and decision rights, and evolve measurement from pipeline/spend toward closed-won/spend.
Drive monthly/quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reviews for marketing spend, ensuring transparent visibility to results, risks, and opportunities.
Own marketing headcount planning in partnership with Marketing and HR/Finance, including capacity modeling, hiring approvals, and productivity analyses.
Establish and operate an investment review process for major marketing initiatives and martech/vendor spend—business cases, spend controls, benefits tracking, and post-investment measurement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing Ops to improve measurement (attribution, incrementality, funnel analytics), govern metric definitions and systems of record, and ensure end-to-end traceability from source data to KPIs that connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue outcomes.
Lead, mentor, and develop finance and/or analytics talent supporting Marketing, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, operational excellence, and continuous optimization.
