Assist the security services shop with maintenance and repair work with the ongoing operations of the residence halls.
Perform maintenance and repair tasks independently or may assist journey-level craft workers with work orders.
Complete work orders provided by the department's supervisor or manager.
Change power supplies, transformers, switches, outlets and perform minor electrical and low voltage repairs.
Carry a UT cell phone and be on the on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as requested.
Work weekends and overtime as determined by the supervisor.
Requirements
High School Diploma / GED.
At least 2 years of experience in performing installation, operation, construction, maintenance, and or repair work in a field or fields related to the work performed.
More than two years of experience in electrical, and/or building maintenance and repair environment (preferred).
Experience in installing and repairing doors, door hardware, and exit devices (preferred).
Experience with installing and repairing low voltage access systems (preferred).
Experience with rekeying of commercial locking hardware (preferred).
