Ensure usability best practices align with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) for government platforms.
Identify and implement optimal UX solutions within ITA’s existing technical environment.
Conduct usability research and recommend design improvements to enhance customer journeys.
Develop wireframes and storyboards to visualize UX solutions and customer interactions.
Translate wireframes and user flows into technical specifications required by developers.
Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from concept to implementation.
Work within an Agile environment, actively participating in standups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
Communicate UX recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Document usability research, design decisions, and best practices for continuous improvement.

Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in UX/UI design, usability, or front-end design.
Strong understanding of U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and federal accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG).
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and customer journey maps using tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure.
Ability to translate UX designs into detailed technical specifications for development teams.
Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills.

Experience designing UX solutions for government agencies or regulated environments.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks to support UX recommendations.
Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.
