Role Overview
- Reporting organizationally to the Head of Recruiting, the Recruitment Specialist will help serve Workforce full life cycle recruitment efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues.
- This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive recruitment administrative support, assisting in managing workforce operations, including the smooth coordination of onboarding tasks and activities.
- Further, this role will oversee the candidate experience through the employee lifecycle, coordinating schedules, managing correspondence, organizing meetings and interviews in support of the recruitment team, maintaining records and documents, assisting with logistical arrangements, and providing general HR administrative support to ensure smooth operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
- The main responsibilities and oversights of the Recruitment Specialist for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Partner with Functional Area Leaders to understand the service levels, deliverables and people-related needs within their workstream/department/division.
- Conduct interviews, and, Pre screen applications through our Applicant Tracking System, create customized interviews to engage with candidates where appropriate.
- Oversee and conduct pre-employment applicant screening processes
- Stay updated on Recruitment trends and best practices, and adapt them to the specific needs and requirements of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
- Own your processes and create a great candidate experience.
- Handle ad-hoc administrative tasks and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic event environment
- Transition seamlessly from recruitment responsibilities to operational support during tournament events, assisting with staff mobilization and management as required.
- Collaborate with HR and workforce teams to adapt recruitment processes to meet high-intensity, time-sensitive tournament requirements, ensuring rapid deployment of personnel across venues.
- Coordinate with other operational teams to ensure that recruitment aligns with logistical and staffing needs during tournament phases, providing a proactive approach to personnel planning.
- Develop and maintain a robust talent pipeline across both permanent and contract roles, with a focus on securing talent for tournament-specific operational positions.
- Foster ongoing relationships with potential candidates and industry networks, engaging passive talent and building a community that can support the World Cup’s staffing demands.
- Utilize social media, professional networks, and other platforms to expand reach and engagement, nurturing relationships with candidates and promoting FIFA2026 Inc. as an employer of choice.
- Ensure a best-in-class candidate experience by maintaining timely communication, providing feedback, and building a positive image of FIFA2026 Inc. throughout the recruitment process.
- Liaise with senior managers and department heads, acting as a trusted advisor on recruitment needs and trends, with a keen focus on the cultural and operational uniqueness of the FIFA organization.
- Work closely with HR, workforce planning, and other internal departments to create a smooth and efficient recruitment process that aligns with organizational goals and timelines.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, or related field
Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a Talent Acquisition function
- Strong communication skills – oral and written
- Experience using an application tracking system or CRM
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
Languages
- Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
Technology
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
