Role Overview
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to healthcare facilities design
- Contribute to planning, design, and documentation of mechanical systems
- Work collaboratively with project leaders and stakeholders
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers
- Conduct site visits and inspections
- Prepare detailed design documents and specifications
- Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and regulations
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in project design within the healthcare sector
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex healthcare projects with measurable outcomes
- Fundamental knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including Hawaii building codes and regulations
- A commanding knowledge of technical issues supporting delivered design services
- Deep technical understanding and working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC and Plumbing
- Familiarity with and ability to produce project-related documents and documentation standards required of a Project leader
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and polished presentation and public speaking skills
- Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required
