Senior Legal Counsel – APAC

Role Overview

• Provide legal advice on maritime related matters across the APAC region
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of maritime-related agreements covering, customers, vendors, partners
• Advise on contentious matters including idle full management, detention and demurrage recovery and non-insured disputes
• Support day to date operations of the maritime business
• Assist on maritime legal work-streams in strategic projects, i.e. business development projects that include cargo transport related aspects
• Work with and manage external legal counsels
• Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the manager from time to time.

Requirements

• Qualified as a solicitor and/or barrister in Singapore preferred.
• Minimum 5-10 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a law firm and/or in-house setting.
• Strong commercial background with experience in maritime law.
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts in areas mentioned above.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
• Motivated, high-energy with a strong work ethic and proven problem-solving skills.
