Develop and maintain relationships with banks, credit unions, and financial institutions within assigned territory.
Position Verus as a trusted wholesale lending partner for non-Agency and Jumbo loan solutions.
Build relationships with key stakeholders including retail lending leaders, mortgage departments, loan officers, and secondary marketing contacts.
Navigate institutional onboarding, approval, and partnership processes as needed.
Identify and pursue opportunities to establish new institutional referral and wholesale origination relationships.
Proactively source new business opportunities through networking, market analysis, industry events, and direct outreach.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective institutional partners.
Drive production growth and market penetration within assigned territory.
Educate institutional partners on Verus’ products, underwriting philosophy, and dedicated support resources available to assist throughout the loan process
Collaborate closely with underwriting, operations, account management, and internal sales teams to ensure smooth loan execution.
Represent Verus at industry conferences, trade associations, and networking events.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in mortgage banking, wholesale lending, business development, or institutional sales.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
Strong understanding of non-Agency, Jumbo, and wholesale mortgage lending.
Existing relationships within banks, credit unions, or financial institutions strongly preferred.
Proven track record of developing new business and growing production volume.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently in a production-driven sales environment.
Strong organizational and relationship management abilities.
Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and compliance standards.
