Participate in and support research monitors during study initiation and closeout activities
Coordinate and accommodate monitoring and auditing visits to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards
Maintain regulatory documents and case report forms in accordance with sponsor requirements and regulatory guidelines
Develop familiarity with study protocols; attend investigator meetings and scheduled conference calls
Screen, recruit, and interview prospective study participants; obtain and document informed consent; educate patients on study requirements
Ensure proper collection and processing of laboratory samples, EKGs, radiology studies, and other protocol-specific procedures
Transport biological specimens for processing and shipment; manage archived images in compliance with protocol requirements
Monitor participants during investigational product administration in collaboration with the pharmacy research liaison and Principal Investigator
Promote accurate data collection and documentation in accordance with protocol requirements
Enter data into case report forms and submit reports in a timely manner
Track participant progress and compliance; report serious adverse events in accordance with UHSH Institutional Review Board and regulatory requirements
Provide oversight and administrative support to external research partners utilizing hospital resources
Requirements
High school diploma and at least 4 years of experience in Health Sciences or related field
Completion of a state-approved practical nursing certificate/diploma program
NY State Licensed Practical Nurse
Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing (BSN) plus 5 years’ experience in acute care setting (preferred)
NY State Registered Nurse certification in Clinical Research and Good Clinical Practice (preferred)
