About this role
Role Overview
You ensure that grievy wins more funeral homes as partners — and thereby reaches more bereaved people.
Specifically: outbound initial contact by phone: you call funeral homes, introduce grievy and generate interest in a partnership.
This is the core of your role — you'll make calls daily and hold many conversations.
Researching and maintaining leads: you build our list of potential funeral homes in HubSpot and keep it up to date.
Qualifying and preparing appointments: you determine which funeral homes are a good fit for grievy and book qualified meetings for our sales team.
Take initiative rather than just ticking boxes: you recognize which approaches work and which don't, and contribute your ideas — your opinion matters from day one.
Work closely with the team: you coordinate directly with our salesperson and the founders.
Requirements
You enjoy making calls and aren't put off by hearing "no".
You communicate clearly, warmly and persuasively, striking the right tone.
You work carefully and reliably: you don't book appointments at any cost, but schedule well-prepared conversations that our sales team can actually work with.
You're motivated to make an impact. You want to see and celebrate successes.
You have very good German language skills.
Career changers are explicitly welcome.
You don't need a sales background. If you've worked in hospitality, retail, at an ice cream shop or in customer service, you already have the most important skills: you can approach people, remain friendly under pressure and don't give up easily.
Benefits
Fair pay plus commission: €15–17 per hour, depending on experience, and after the probationary period an attractive commission for each booked appointment.
Flexible alongside studies or other commitments: whether as a working student, part-time employee or mini-job, we'll find a model that fits you.
Typically you work 8–20 hours per week, with flexible hours and the option to work from home.
You can reduce your hours during exam periods and increase them during semester breaks.
A real entry-level role, not filler: with us you'll learn sales from the ground up — through intensive onboarding, regular feedback, and professional sales workshops.
Paid vacation: even as a working student or in a mini-job you'll receive paid vacation — something that's not a given in many temporary jobs.
Your work has meaning: every funeral home you bring on board helps more bereaved people find support.
Close to the action: you work closely with our sales team and the founders, contribute your own ideas and help shape the company.
Free Urban Sports Club membership: train, swim, do yoga — nationwide in Germany, fully covered by us.
Startup environment in Cologne: modern co-working near the university, a young, friendly team and joint events like rooftop barbecues.
