Drive customer adoption of new propellants for Solstice Advanced Materials in inhaled applications for short
and long-term growth globally.
Lead the development of proof-of-concept metered dose inhaler (MDI) formulations including Solstice® Air propellant and technical evaluation of same by industry standard testing.
Lead a research program to develop and defend our intellectual property used to protect Solstice Advanced Materials’ investments in this application.
Work with customers, industry partners, third-party labs, trade organizations and regulators worldwide to enable the adoption of our new products.
Identify growth opportunities in medical aerosol applications and initiate NPD projects for business growth by working closely with the commercial team through stage-gate process.
Regular communication with the global project team will also be required.
Must have a willingness to travel (15%) to accomplish these responsibilities.
Requirements
PhD or Master’s degree or greater in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, materials science or related fields or biology.
5+ years’ R&D experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, highly preferred in aerosol development
3+ years’ experience in inhalation science/research
Must possess a valid passport/visa permitting international travel.
Experience in aerosol development, pharmaceutical formulation development, particle science or engineering, or related sciences
Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical actives and excipients, particularly in respiratory therapies and drug development
Working knowledge of GMP
Customer-facing skills with the ability to build relationships, understand client needs, communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Management/supervisory experience with lab personnel
Third party/contract/agency/consultant management experience
Understanding of IP portfolio management and IP landscape
Preferred experience with filing IP
Technical presentation skills
Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to both technical and commercial audiences.
Self-driven and able to proactively develop, propose and execute on programs
Able to collaborate well within teams of varying roles (commercial, technical, clinical, quality etc)
Capable of motivating and influencing others without direct authority
Capable of troubleshooting and problem solving complex problems in creative ways
Experience with designing and writing experimental designs and SOPs
Willingness to relocate to Buffalo, NY area
